Skilled Nominated Visa (Subclass 190)

Skilled Nominated Visa (Subclass 190)

This visa enables nominated skilled workers to become permanent residents in Australia, allowing them to live and work in the country indefinitely. Applicants can submit their applications from within or outside Australia, excluding immigration clearance zones.

If applying within Australia, applicants must hold a substantive visa or one of the following bridging visas: Subclass 010 Bridging A visa, Subclass 020 Bridging B visa, or Subclass 030 Bridging C visa. Failure to meet this requirement will result in the application being deemed invalid.

THE APPLICATION PROCESS
  • Check if your occupation is on the SOL, and that you have 65 points as a minimum.
  • Submit an expression of interest
  • Wait for invitation to apply
  • Gather your documents
  • Apply for your visa within 60 days of invitation.
  • A sponsorship application by the employer (the employer needs to be a lawfull, active, operating business and meet local labour and employment practices).
  • The second part of the application process is the nomination application. This is regarding the position to be filled, salary details, efforts to hire Australian workers and the ‘genuineness’ of the position. The business must also be viable to sponsor from overseas.
  • A visa application by the nominated employee. The visa applicant must demonstrate that they meet the skills required for their occupation as well as health and character requirements.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
  • Reside permanently in Australia.
  • Engage in the work or activities specified in your application.
  • Enjoy unlimited entries and exits from Australia while your visa is valid.
  • Sponsor eligible relatives for permanent residency.
